ThreeNews.Id - MANADO. The Indonesian Navy has completed the prevention of the transmission of the Covid-19 virus by holding a second dose of Covid-19 vaccination. This time, the Navy Main Base (Lantamal) VIII together with the Bitung City Government held a maritime community vaccination raid at the Trikora Monument, Lembeh Island, Bitung. Tuesday (10/8/2021).

The second dose of vaccination attack on Lembeh Island was directly monitored by the Commander of the Navy Main Base (Danlantamal) VIII Brigadier General TNI (Mar) I Wayan Ariwijaya, S.E., CFrA together with the Mayor of Bitung Ir. Maurits Mantiri and Deputy Mayor of Bitung Hengky Honandar, S.E., along with the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkompimda) of Bitung City.

Indonesian Navy Hospital (Rumkital) dr. Wahyu Slamet in Bitung during the vaccination attack sent two general practitioners and dozens of health workers assisted by security personnel from the Battalion Soldiers of the Marine Defense Battalion of Bitung Base VIII. In this vaccine attack, Lantamal VIII targeted 500 doses of the Sinovac vaccine.

The Commander of Lantamal (Danlantamal) VIII Brigadier General TNI (Mar) I Wayan Ariwijaya SE, CFrA., on that occasion said that this activity was an instruction from the Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Yudo Margono SE, MM, as well as support for government programs in the context of accelerating vaccination throughout the province.
"We are here with the Mayor of Bitung and his staff in order to accelerate the vaccination program in accordance with the government's program, especially the people living in coastal villages who are mainly fishing communities," said Commander Lantamal VIII.

Danlantamal VIII added that the Trikora Monument was chosen as the site for the Navy's vaccination attack on Lembeh Island because it is a historical place and a tourist destination in Bitung city.

Danlantamal VIII hopes that with the implementation of this second dose of vaccine, the community will be healthy and protected from Covid-19. Even though they have been vaccinated, people must always comply with health protocols and discipline in maintaining health, even if they are supervised or unsupervised, and wherever they are, said Danlantamal VIII.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Bitung, Ir. Maurits Mantiri expressed his appreciation and gratitude to Danlantamal VIII and his staff for holding this activity. The second dose of vaccination organized by Lantamal VIII is very helpful for the vaccination program, especially in the second stage, which is currently around 12%. According to the Mayor, the synergy between the Navy, in this case Lantamal VIII and the Bitung City Government, has often been implemented, even since the city of Bitung has always been like the Navy's territory.
